Introduction

LNSEGS mission is to assist the elderly and  disabled residents of the lower North Shore, make their  gardens easier to maintain, so they can continue to live in their own homes for longer. The service has over 200 clients and around 40  regular volunteers across the Lane Cove, Mosman, North Sydney  and Willoughby local government areas.

LNSEGS is supported financially by Home and Community Care, a joint Commonwealth and State government initiative and by several individuals and some educational and business institutions, who donate their time.

LNSEGS was established in 2002 as a part of the
Lane Cove Community Aid Service

Agapanthus are indestructible. They can handle sun or shade, any soil type and don't need watering or fertilizing at all. They can become weeds in some areas, however in Sydney they're ok. They have pretty blue flowers on 1 mtr spikes in summer and look good throughout the year.

This Website is intended to make it easier for clients and volunteers to access information about the service. We hope this website is useful for both existing and potential clients and volunteers. The contents of the website have been organized into five sections:

Overview: Introduction to the service (you are here!)

Clients: Information intended mainly for clients

Aspiring Volunteers: Information for potential/new volunteers

Current Volunteers: Information for current volunteers

Resources: Further gardening related information for the curious

For further information please contact 9427 6425.

We would like to gratefully acknowledge the pro bono contributions of Rashmi Sihna and Avtar Kohli in developing this website with assistance from Hao Wang and Kammy Ma -all students at UTS.They took time out of their busy student lives to help with this project in the face of many obstacles and limitations. The website is not perfect (not yet) but we hope it will prove adequate until we can develop a truly professional "tree of knowledge" website.
